Friday June 23rd, 15:00 to 18:00
GLS Sprachzentrum, Kastanienallee 82, 10435 Berlin
National Geographic Learning and ELTABB are please to present this workshop on “Teaching Lexically” with Hugh Dellar.
While the dominant way of approaching English Language teaching remains rooted in a structural grammar + words approach, corpus linguistics has shown us that used language is far more fixed and predictable than perhaps previously imagined. This session will unpack some of the more relevant research findings of the last three decades and consider their implications for both classroom materials and everyday pedagogy. By the end, you’ll not only have some grounding in how you might be able to teach a language more lexically, but you’ll also be convinced that this is how you should be working!
Hugh Dellar is a teacher and teacher trainer with over twenty years’ experience in the field. He is also the co-founder of Lexical Lab and co-author of two five-level General English series, Outcomes and Innovations (now in its second edition), both published by National Geographic Learning. His first methodology book, Teaching Lexically, came out via Delta Publishing in 2016.
Free entry for all. Please sign up on the Ning or by emailing events@eltabb.com.
