This September we’d like to welcome you to the ‘ELTABB Staff Room’. This is a new style workshop for teachers who have teaching ideas worth discussing or developing in small groups.
It is no secret that as freelancers we don’t have much contact to other teachers, but if we do from time to time it can be in a frantic rush with little time to discuss lesson activities in detail, leaving us perhaps better described as ships passing in the night. If you can relate to this and think you might benefit from a little more colleague contact, we’d love to have your input at this interactive workshop.
Each participant is asked to bring along two teaching ideas that can be discussed in small groups.
Example teaching ideas:
– An activity you’ve tried and want to develop.
– An activity you’d like to try but first want to run it by some others.
– A series of activities.
– A teaching concept you’d like some feedback on.
– An activity which works well and you’d like to share.
When selecting your teaching ideas consider the following questions:
– What kind of students is it suitable for?
– How could it be adapted?
– What skills does it develop?
– What inspired it?
If you’re stuck for ideas, don’t worry; of course you’re still welcome to join!
The participants will be divided up into groups of 3 or 4 to discuss their ideas before coming back to debrief as a group. Then we’ll go off for round two with our second idea.
Finally, we’ll select two willing participants to write a short rundown of their idea with possible contributions from other workshop participants, which will then be posted on the discussions page of the ELTABB Ning.
We look forward to seeing you there!
