Candidate Statements: 2026
Candidate for Chair
Hi, I’m Sandra Roggenkamp.
I hold an MA in English and work as a freelance language trainer for English and German, and I love making learning brain-friendly, interactive and fun (with the help of my assistant, Mr Bear, and his phone booth).
I’ve been on the ELTABB Board since 2020 and have filled various roles over the years, such as Journal Editor, Events Coordinator, and Chair. What I like about ELTABB is the friendly vibe and collegial atmosphere, especially at the CPD events and stammtisch socials. It’s been a lot of fun to share ideas, learn new things and grow together!
I’d be happy to continue in the role of Chair, to support the Board and help keep up the productive spirit as we steer ELTABB through the coming year.
Candidate for Vice Chair and Journal & Newsletter Editor
Hi, I’m Kit Flemons – current ELTABB Vice Chair and Newsletter Editor.
As Vice Chair I really play a supporting role – doing various bits and pieces that need to be done and helping where I can.
It’s my newsletter editor role that’s more clearly defined… I edit the newsletter. And send it. So the position is really the clumsier ‘Newsletter Editor and Sender’.
I’ve held this position since some time in 2022, and you should have all received a newsletter every month since then (check your spam folders!)
According to analytics, people are reading the newsletter – and a few people have said they enjoy reading it… Pleasant to hear, and almost earth-shattering news in the world of industry email circulars. Thanks!!
I’d like to continue helping ELTABB – it feels nice to give something back – and you’ve probably seen my contributions (again: check your spam folders!) . Vote for me and I’ll continue doing what I’ve been doing. See you in your inboxes! (Not your spam folders, right?!)
Candidate for Treasurer
Hello, I’m Phoebe Blackburn.
I’m an English trainer and editor with a focus on sustainability & circular economy, based in Berlin since 2017 when I also first joined ELTABB. I have a background in corporate communications and the arts, in France and the UK.
ELTABB is a well-established network of English language professionals, also connected to the wider ELT networks in Germany – a significant advantage – and helps members interact with a wider network of professionals linked to language and language teaching.
I’ve served as the Treasurer of ELTABB since December 2025 after attending many events over the years. I am excited to have taken on this role which is key to the healthy functioning of the organisation, and am keen to continue and help steer it through an ever-evolving teaching environment.

Candidate for Recording Secretary
Hi, I’m Michael Dollman,
a Business English teacher still relatively new to the game having spent the last 20+ years as a technical/scientific translator while living in Germany for almost 40 years.
I’ve been on the ELTABB board for two years now and really enjoy working with such talented, sincere and dedicated board members who take pride in getting things done for our community.
Being on the board gives me insight into how ELTABB operates as an organisation, which I find interesting. So I haven’t regretted my decision to step up my ELTABB commitment for a moment.
As Recording Secretary, my main role is to convene quarterly board meetings, along with the odd ad hoc Zoom session, collect agenda items, then distribute minutes with action points… and once a year I even get to visit a fancy notary office on the Ku’damm – a definite perk!
Candidate for Non-signatory Board Member (Events Coordinator)
Hello, I’m Golpar Bahar.
I hold a PhD in Linguistics and conduct research in language acquisition and plurilingualism. In addition to my academic work, I teach General and Business English. I have been a member of ELTABB since 2017.
Since joining, I have greatly appreciated the welcoming, supportive, and professional spirit of the association. It is a strong network of committed English language teachers, and I particularly value how it connects us not only with each other but also with the wider community of language educators and trainers.
I would be delighted to take on the role of Events Coordinator, support the Board, and become more actively involved in the association’s activities.Â
