We are very excited to announce the following workshop with Sarah Mercer:
In this workshop, we will look at learner and teacher psychologies. Essentially, the two are intimately connected with both mutually influencing each other. In part 1, we will reflect on the kind of learner psychology that is facilitative for getting learners engaged and motivated. Specifically, we will focus on a learner’s sense of self, their mindset, sense of control, and their grittiness. In part 2, we will discuss how teachers can nurture their own psychologies and professional wellbeing. In particular, the focus will be on what teachers can do to ensure they are in the best frame of mind to teach including motivation, work/life balance, and emotional regulation strategies. The day will conclude with an exploration of how to sustain a positive, fulfilling relationship between teachers and learners for the benefit of both.
